2022: Just another year, or the chance for change?
Here we go again then. Jan 1. Bottom of the year hill. Are you ready to get moving in 2022? Motion is lotion. The more you do, the better you'll feel.
In the 2 "Covid" years of 2020 and 2021, with Strava as my trusty yardstick, I clocked up around 5,750km from Walking/Hiking/ Running/Nordic Walking/Cycling and a combined elevation gain of over 51,000m (166,000ft = Everest x 6) - the majority of it locally in Warwickshire. The scores just in for 2021 included 1,020km Nordic Walking, 773km walking/hiking and 301km running.
Most of the miles were gained in the company of some great people – my training clients and attendees of my free activity groups – and it's been a privilege to accompany them on their personal fitness journeys. As one client who started working with me in Jan 21 said to me at the end of December: "Thanks for helping me become a new woman in 2021."
For them, and for me too, 2022 is the chance to progress further – to be stronger for longer. But in 2022 I know I will also help others I've yet to meet to start out on their journeys – such that in 365 days time they'll have made great strides in improving their fitness and quality of life.
